The same standard as the grown-ups, from barbers who are patient about it. Thirty minutes, $57 on a weekday and $62 on a Saturday, and nobody is rushed.
A first haircut goes one of two ways and most of it is decided in the first minute. Our barbers let it happen at the child's pace: sitting on a parent's lap is fine, stopping halfway is fine, and a cut that takes twenty minutes longer than it should is fine.
After that it is the same cut anyone else gets — clipper and scissor work, a proper shape rather than a bowl, and a finish that survives school. Tuesday to Thursday afternoons are the quietest hours in the shop and the easiest for a first-timer.

What Happens In The Chair
30 min, start to finish. Nobody is double-booked, so the time you book is the time you get.

Settle
No clippers until he is comfortable. Parent's lap is fine, and so is a break in the middle.

If he is old enough to have an opinion, he gets asked. It is his hair.

Clipper and scissor work to a real shape, cut to grow out tidily rather than all at once.

Neck tidied, hair off the collar, and out the door before anyone has had enough.

Do you cut kids' hair at the Bentleigh shop?
Yes. Boys 1 to 12 at $57, or $62 on a Saturday. Tuesday to Thursday afternoons are the quietest and best for first-timers.
My son is thirteen. Which price is that?
The adult one. The boys' price runs to twelve, and after that it's whichever service he's actually having, usually a Fade / Style Cut at $62 or a Re-Style at $72.
Do I need to book or can I walk in?
Both. We hold walk-in spots until 4pm Monday to Saturday, but Fridays and Saturdays book out by mid-week. Booking online guarantees your barber and your time.
